Barak Zeev Henis, EVP, founded Diamonds Direct Crabtree in 2008. He joined Diamonds Direct's parent company in 2004 as Sales Manager of the jewelry wholesale division where he climbed his way up in the diamond industry starting as a traveling sales person covering 30 states and supplying diamond jewelry to more than 150 retail jewelry stores.
Born in Jerusalem, Israel in 1978, and raised in Tel Aviv, Henis joined the Israel Defense Force service in 1996 for three years. He claims the military service approach of fun and discipline helped him bring the special spark to his wonderful lethal unit at Diamonds Direct Crabtree.
After exploring the world during a one year trip to South and Central America, the Far East, and New Zealand, Henis got his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Ben Gurion University. During his second year of Master studies in Law at Bar Ilan University, he met with Mr. Alon Arabov, the President and founder of Diamonds Direct Group and The Diamond Manufacturers. Henis knew right away he had found his true passion and path in life and started his professional gemology studies at the Diamond College in Ranat Gan. After working and specializing in loose diamonds, Henis started his natural move in 2004 to the world's largest diamond market in the USA.
Henis started in the wholesale offices in Rockville, Maryland, moved with the company to the Diamond District in New York City and finally ended in Raleigh to open the third Diamonds Direct store.
Henis is husband to wife Morgan and father to two sons and a daughter. He enjoys watching European soccer and playing with his international group of friends on Sundays. He sees Raleigh as his true home and is involved as a sponsor in many local fundraising events for non-profit organizations such as NCAAT, Make-A-Wish, American Heart Association, Chabad House, and many more through the Diamonds Direct Foundation.
